Here’s to an exciting tour ahead, and your first destination is Negombo, a key fishing town on the western coast of Sri Lanka. Day 02
Negombo – Sigiriya

After breakfast, you will be leaving for an exciting boat ride through the Negombo lagoon, weaving through the mangroves and visiting an exciting coastal destination called “Lellama”.
Thereafter, you will proceed to Habarana Your journey will take you along a picturesque route, passing through rice paddy fields to the town of Kurunegala. To begin, drop by the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to get your first introduction to Sri Lanka’s most infamous inhabitants. Here you can watch these giant animals up close as they feed and bathe in the shimmering waters of the Ma Oya River.
After lunch, continue to the town of Sigiriya, within the country’s rich cultural triangle. Climb the mesmerizing rock fortress of Sigiriya, a 5th Century Fortress in the Sky, in the late afternoon. En route to Habarana, see urban and sub-urban living styles, sprawling grasslands, varied vegetation, roadside boutiques, and rustic country life.
Finally, you will conclude your day by checking into your hotel in Habarana for dinner followed by an overnight stay.

Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Sigiriya

Begin your day with breakfast before beginning your exploration of the Polonnaruwa Medieval City, Sri Lanka’s second capital dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. At this World Heritage Site, you will witness the ruins of the Royal Palace, statues of King Parakramabahu, the spanning Parakrama Samudraya, and much more. After immersing yourself in the historical past of Sri Lanka, you will embark on a village culinary tour to experience the authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. You will engage in preparing your village lunch together with village folks, where you will also meet and interact with the village families as they share their lifestyles and stories with you, so that you can feel the pulse of the rural people and the village life of Sri Lanka. You will also learn how fresh ingredients are sourced from the surroundings and see how lunch is cooked using firewood.
After relishing the freshly cooked Sri Lankan style lunch (traditional rice, lentils, fresh vegetables, fried fish and more) served on a lotus leaf, you will bid farewell to the villagers and in the evening proceed to Kaudulla, Minneriya or Eco Park for an adventurous afternoon jeep safari. The main highlight being the Elephant Gathering, which is believed to be the largest gathering of Asian elephants in the world and takes place during the dry season from June to October when the rivers dry up and the elephants are forced to travel to large reservoirs in Minneriya, Kaudulla, Kaudulla, or Eco Park to find drinking water. The rest of the period visit Kaudulla, Minneriya or Eco Park to experience the rumble in the jungle of elephants. This is a thrilling sight and experience, plus a memory to cherish for the rest of your life.

Day 04
Sigiriya – Kandy

Today you will arrive in the hill capital of Kandy, surrounded by greenery and the great Mahaweli River. Eminent as the center of Buddhism and the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom, the name Kandy evokes romantic notions in people of a lost hill kingdom, a lake, tea plantations, and a famous temple. At your convenience, become acquainted with the city, pay your respects to the golden-roofed Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses Sri Lanka’s most sacred relic, a tooth of the Lord Buddha. Admire the delicate hill-country breezes that urge the mist to gently part, revealing colorful houses amid Kandy’s forested halo. Visit the lively market places and the Upper Lake drive. To step up the tempo, attend a dance performance featuring traditional dances from the different regions of Sri Lanka. Kandy
Visit temple of the tooth relic & Peradeniya botanical garden

Today you will embark on a city tour in Kandy (after breakfast) to visit the Sacred Tooth Relic temple – Kandy ‘s key attraction and a symbol of sovereignty enshrined in great splendor. The Esala Perahera, held in August each year, is a must-see. This spectacular pageant honors the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. After visiting the tooth relic temple, you will drive around the iconic Kandy lake, admiring the serene and stunning landscape merged with the beauty of nature.
Next, you will visit the famous Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, a magnificent 57-hectare garden that treasures the best of tropical flora, aromatic spices, and rare medicinal herbs. Delight in a picnic under the shady orchards while engrossing in the beauty of nature before engaging in the Kandy City Tour and shopping. During this tour, you will see the key highlights of the hill capital and shop to your heart’s content. In the evening, you will witness a colourful cultural show with an exciting agenda of traditional Sri Lankan dances and pageantry. Day 06
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

You will begin your day with breakfast, before leaving for the Kandy railway station.
You will take an epic train ride to Nanu Oya (subject to availability), which is a breathtakingly scenic 3–4 hour train trip. The train journey, weaving through the scenic hill country, is one of the most beautiful explorations in Sri Lanka. From the edge of soaring mountains, you will overlook the branching valleys of the mist-capped mountains, sloping lush green tea plantations, villages dotted with houses, thick forests, and whooshing waterfalls. Continue the drive till Nuwara Eliya, and once you reach the city, you will check into a hotel and relax till evening.
Nuwara Eliya is a city in the hill country and is one of the most important locations for tea cultivation. It is well known for its chilly climate and for being the coolest area in the tropical island. The city still preserves its ancient charm with its well-maintained colonial buildings and private homes with English-style lawns and blooming gardens, making the city called “Little England. In the evening, after enjoying the breezy walk via Nuwara Eliya City and around the famous Gregory Lake, relish in a local cocktail prepared by your own chauffeur whilst admiring the lovely landscape of Lake Gregory and colonial buildings with blooming gardens.
You will then have dinner followed by a comfortable overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 07
Nuwara Eliya – Colombo

En-route You will visit Devon Falls and St.Clair’s Falls. Devon Falls, also known as the ‘Veil of the Valley’, is one of the most beautiful cascades in Sri Lanka, located close to Talawakelle town. It is named after a pioneer English coffee planter called Devon, whose plantation was close to the waterfall. St.Clair’s Falls is one of the widest falls in the country. These waterfalls are a striking sight to see, and do not forget to capture as many pictures as you can. Optional You can engage in white water rafting in Kitulgala on the way to Colombo. This is the most popular destination in Sri Lanka for white water rafting, bird watching, boating, trekking, and hiking for all adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts. You can enjoy a thrilling experience over the turbulent waters and take it back home with an unforgettable memory for a lifetime!
You will continue to drive to Colombo, and once you reach the city, you will visit the beautifully landscaped ‘Diyatha Uyana Park’ to spend the evening.
