Kumana National Park

Kumana National Park, which is in Sri Lanka’s southeast and is next to Yala National Park, is the country’s top bird sanctuary because it is home to a wide variety of indigenous and migrating species. Kumana is a preferred destination for bird watchers and makes a great setting for camping and safaris. There are 255 different species of birds in Kumana, including rare migratory birds like the Black-necked stork, Yellow-footed green pigeons, and Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, as well as more common birds like the Eurasian Spoonbill, Purple Heron, and Wood Sandpiper. There are also a few elephants and mammals like the European otter and Golden Jackal.
