On arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be warmly greeted by your chauffeur, who will transfer you to Negombo and do a city tour.

Day 02
Negombo – Anuradapura

Overnight in Anuradapura
Depart for Anuradhapura. On arrival, take a tour of the city. It is the capital city of the North Central Province, Sri Lanka, and the capital of Anuradhapura District. It is famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sinhala civilization.

Day 03
Anuradapura – Wilpattu – Anuradapura

Do a jeep safari at Wilpattu National Park.
Overnight in Anuradapura
Take a day trip to Wilpattu National Park, where you will enjoy an afternoon safari. (2.30 hours to 3.00 hours approx. for safari) Wilpattu National Park is a national park in Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of “Willus” (natural lakes) — natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. Almost one hundred and six lakes (Willu) and tanks are found spread throughout Wilpattu. Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest national parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is world-renowned for its leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population.
Return to Anuradhapura for dinner and overnight.
Day 04
Anuradapura – Minneriya – Habarana

Overnight in Habarana
Depart from Anuradhapura to Habarana. Stop en route at Minneriya National Park and take an afternoon safari through the park. Minneriya is a small town in Sri Lanka that is famous for two things; the great Minneriya lake, built by King Mahasen, and Minneriya National Park, which is a hot spot for safari lovers because of its abundance of elephants. Furthermore, it is near the tourist-friendly Habarana and the world heritage sites of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and Sigiriya.
Continue to Habarana, where you will check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner. Overnight in Habarana.
Day 05
Habarana – Kandy

Explore the Udawatta Kale Sanctuary (Forest Reserve) in Kandy.
Overnight in Kandy
Travel to Kandy, where you will spend the afternoon exploring the Udawatta Kele Sanctuary. Udawattakele Forest Reserve, often spelled as Udawatta Kele, is a historic forest reserve on a hill-ridge in the city of Kandy. It is 104 hectares (257 acres) large. During the days of the Kandyan kingdom, Udawattakele was known as “Uda Wasala Watta” in Sinhalese, meaning “the garden above the royal palace”. The sanctuary is famous for its extensive avifauna. The reserve also contains a great variety of plant species, especially lianas, shrubs, and small trees. There are several giant lianas. Many of the small and medium-sized mammals that inhabit Sri Lanka can be seen here. Several kinds of snakes and other reptiles might be seen. Udawattakele was designated as a forest reserve in 1856, and it became a sanctuary in 1938.

Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

Make the journey to Nuwara Eliya. We stop en route to see the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and the iconic Ramboda Waterfalls, before visiting a local tea factory and plantation.
Continue to Nuwara Eliya for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains – Nuwara Eliya

Overnight in Nuwara Eliya
Depart for the Horton Plains, where you will spend the morning trekking through the scenic landscape. Horton Plains National Park is a national park in the central highlands of Sri Lanka that was designated in 1988. It is located at an elevation of 2,100–2,300 m (6,900–7,500 ft) and encompasses montane grassland and cloud forest. It is rich in biodiversity and many of the species found here are endemic to the region.
The rest of the afternoon will be free to spend at your leisure. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 08
Nuwara Eliya – Ratnapura – Kalawana

Visit Sinharaja Rainforest in Ratnapura
Overnight in Kalawana
Drive to Ratnapura and spend the afternoon visiting the Sinharaja Rainforest. Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a forest reserve and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Sinharaja is the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. More than 60% of the trees are endemic, and many of them are considered rare. Animals account for half of Sri Lanka’s endemic species (particularly butterflies, amphibians, birds, snakes, and fish). It is home to 95% of endemic birds.

Enjoy a full day exploring Yala as you embark on a safari through the National Park. Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, as well as adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names, such as Ruhuna National Park (Block 1) and Kumana National Park, or ‘Yala East’, for the adjoining area.
It is situated in the southeastern region of the country and is found in both the South Province and the Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometers (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometers (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and, along with Wilpattu, was one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wildlife. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and waterfowl.

Visit Bandula National Park

Travel to Bundala National Park, which is an internationally important wintering ground for migratory water birds in Sri Lanka. Bundala harbors 197 species of birds, the highlight being the greater flamingo, which migrates in large flocks. Bundala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1969 and redesignated as a national park on January 4, 1993. In 1991, Bundala became the first wetland to be declared as a Ramsar site in Sri Lanka.
In 2005, the national park was designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, the fourth biosphere reserve in Sri Lanka. The national park is situated 245 kilometres (152 mi) southeast of Colombo. Return to Yala National Park for dinner.
